Dr. Bertram Hui President
Dr. Hui was previously at Intel Capital, Intel Corp for 7 years and headed WIMAX investments in Europe, Middle East and Africa. He also serves on the board of 12 private companies. Prior to Intel, Dr. Hui was at DARPA for 10 years as deputy office director of the Information Technology Office. While at DARPA he started new R&D programs in fiber optics, advanced radars, mm wave power modules and directed energy weapons. Dr. Hui started his career as a senior research scientist in the Naval Research Laboratory. Dr. Hui earned his Ph.D. and masters degree in nuclear engineering at MIT, and a bachelors in Physics also from MIT.
Jin Kim Director of Operations
Mr. Kim joined Ascend Intelligence from Lockheed Martin Corp where he led an Integrated Product Team for Network Products developing a mission operations system for the next generation DoD satellite backbone network. Prior to Lockheed Mr. Kim managed the Access Networks Group at Covad Communications for 5 years. Mr. Kim also served 5 years in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear propulsion officer and Combat Information Center Officer. Mr. Kim earned his masters and bachelors degree in computer science and electrical engineering at MIT.
Brian Slaughter Director of Business Development
Mr. Slaughter served as a Combat Arms Officer in the U.S. Army for five years and is a current member of the U.S. Army Reserves. During Mr. Slaughter's military career he served with the 1 1st Cavalry Division and completed a 13-month tour in Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom II. Prior to joining Ascend Intelligence Mr. Slaughter served as the Area Vice-President for South Central Operations with the Hill-Rom Company and the Special Projects Manager for CMAC, Inc. Mr. Slaughter earned his MBA from Loyola University of Chicago and his Bachelor's in Finance from the University of Central Florida.
